September 30, 2013
Dear Parents,
Thank you for all of your support at McTeacher night.  I have determined that I like being a princess !  I also figured out what I will be for the spirit day when we dress up as “create your own superhero”, January 16th.  I will be a Princess/Fairy god-mother/Superhero J.  But, seriously, we do appreciate all your patience at McDonalds and contributions to our ministry here at CCA.
Homework:
Spelling: Lesson 4 workbook and test are both Friday.
Math:  3x’s - We will practice 2’s and 3’ and the reverse in class again this week.  (As an example 3x7 AND 7x3) We will add 4’s by Thursday. Quizzes on mixed facts almost daily.  When they become accustomed to the procedure they are more successful.
Imaginary Country- Due today!!! They are turning out very well.  Look at all our creativity in the hall later this week.
Passport: The new map went home today.  The test in October is  31st.  We will find all these on our class atlas’s and locate them on our individual laminated maps that they keep in their AC, but the primary study time is at home.
Science: We are learning the names of the major bones in the body- ask them to show you their phalanges, and metatarsals,  and help them see their scapula in the mirror when they are getting ready for a shower.  They should also be able to show you a pivot joint, a ball-and-socket joint, and a hinge joint.  I have attached a study sheet to this letter.
Reading- Average 20 minutes per day- Turn in the September calendar on October 1st or 2nd for full credit.  The Pizza Hut Read Your Heart Out campaign starts today.  I have attached the monthly calendar to this letter.

Dear Parents,
Science Fair news:  We are reviewing bibliographies, topic paragraphs , paragraph structure, report structure, and  gathering facts for our research project this week.  I have told the kids that the report may be typed if they do the keyboarding,  otherwise it is to be hand written.  We also talked about using “4th grade words”.  I told them that copying someone else’s words was called plagiarism and was illegal.  They immediately wanted to know if they would be arrested!  (Fourth graders are so literalJ)

Homework for this week is:
Bible verse:  1 Corinthians 15: 2-6  (Again!)
