Dear Parents,
I hope you all had a blessed Christmas time with
family and friends. It seemed long and
lovely and all too short at the same time.
Back to routines here in the Fourth grade…. with some bright spots along
the run to the end of the year. We will
be doing a skit of a Russian Folk tale, “God is Good”, tentatively scheduled during chapel on April 1 and a “Rube
Goldberg” competition demonstrating our work with simple machines after the
Father’s Day breakfast on June 6th.
Watch for these things to be added to our list of upcoming events once
the dates have been finalized with the CCA master calendar.
Homework:
Spelling: Lesson 16 – Looking at the “o” and “u” sounds. Test and workbook are due Friday as usual.
Math: Please continue to work with your student at
home on math facts. The end of the 2nd
quarter is January 24 and my goal is for all students to have mastered the
facts 2-10 by then. We will continue to
practice and test during class, but please make sure your student is working at
home. Ken Ken is included with this missive and it
is due Friday as well.
Passport: The January test is Thursday, January 30. The
map went home today.
Reading: Keep reading. Home reading should be a fiction or non-fiction book, not a magazine
or “fun facts” type book. The students
will be required to do a book report at the end of the month on a book that was
read at home. The January reading calendar is on the back of
this letter. It
is due EOM plus 2 days (Feb. 4)
