Hello Everyone,
Wow! Our contraption demonstration was grand
fun. The contraptions were innovative
and well put-together! Thank you to all
parents who recorded the magic moments.
Please send a copy of the recordings to me so I can make them available
to all the families.
Science: We
are moving on to the study of electricity and magnetism. You will be happy to know the project
associated with this unit of study will be simpler and mostly done at schoolJ.
Operation Christmas Child The due date is November 19. If your
family can put together two shoeboxes please do so. Our school goal is slightly more than the
number of students in the whole school.
Homework:
Spelling: Lesson 12 is a
review week. The format for the test
will be the same as the last review- fill in the circle. This is tricky for 4th graders,
but the format for the Terra Nova testing is the same, so this is a practice
run.
Math: Division 0-6 again today and then on to the
four 7’s: 7x7, 7x8, 7x9, 7x12! (7X10 and 7x11 don’t
count-too easy....).
Social Studies: We will be beginning our look at the colonists
this week.
Reading- 20 minutes . Please help them find a book they
will enjoy reading from beginning to end.
Not just a chapter or two from this book and a few pages from
another. One of the values of the 20
minutes a day requirement is moving them
toward becoming life-long readers. My goal for them is to be so captivated by
stories that they read under the covers
with a flashlight at nightJ.
Bible: Psalm 139:1-6
